Laura K. Ipsen Senior Vice President and General Manager Smart Grid Cisco
Smart Grid is the next multi-billion dollar infrastructure play for Cisco that aims to allow connected utilities to supply electricity in a more efficient and sustainable way, allowing consumers to gain better efficiency and control of their energy consumption. In her role as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Ipsen shapes Cisco’s Smart Grid vision and strategy, builds an extensive product and services portfolio, and drives a strategic plan for communicating to customers, partners, shareholders, and employees.
Ipsen is also the co-chair of Cisco's EcoBoard, which leads Cisco's comprehensive “green” strategy related to the use of information technology to achieve a positive impact on the environment and climate change. In 2008, Ipsen received the Women Making History award from US Senator Barbara Boxer for her work on environmental issues. In addition, Ipsen leads Cisco's Women's Advisory Group, which identifies and recommends gender-focused strategies as part of Cisco's Inclusion and Diversity Council.
Previously, Ipsen established and managed Global Policy and Government Affairs (GPGA) division for Cisco and was responsible for developing Cisco’s public policy agenda and advancing governmental policies in support of broadband and IP-based technologies.
Ipsen serves on the boards of the Public Affairs Council, One Economy Corporation, and the Technology Board for Pacific Research Institute. Ipsen is the past president and chair of the board of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) and the past chair of the Board of Directors for the Information Technology Industry Council (ITIC).
Ipsen holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Virginia and studied Arabic at Yarmouk University in Jordan.
Mark Newton Senior Manager Chief Environmental Strategist Dell
Mark Newton is responsible for Dell corporate environmental sustainability policy and strategy. In this role he leads global policy development, manages stakeholder engagements and informs corporate strategy on environmental issues including material use, energy efficiency, product recycling and climate strategy.
Newton joined Dell in 2003 as Manager of Worldwide Environmental Affairs. Under his leadership, Dell integrated global environmental design requirements into the business as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility. His team established product compliance assurance processes, introduced stakeholder concerns into the business and led policy and process development activities.
Prior to joining Dell, Newton also led product-focused environmental technology programs at Apple and Motorola, and Applied Chemistry at DEKA R&D. He received a Doctorate in Chemistry in 1993 from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Glen Koskela Chief Technology Officer, Nordic Region and Technology Strategist Fujitsu Global,
Fujitsu
Glen Koskela is the CTO of Fujitsu Nordic. He is responsible for predicting IT trends and customer needs, assessing their impact on the market and interpreting strategy and policy considerations, as well as for liaison and technology management with core R&D teams inside Fujitsu group. He ensures that the company is able to articulate a clear technology strategy to the market in line with customer requirements, exploring new opportunities and promoting innovative use of technology services.
He joined Fujitsu Technology Solutions in Germany to integrate product operations when Fujitsu Siemens joint venture was established in 1999, was consequently named to Corporate Strategy, and for last ten years has driven the company’s technology strategy, continuing currently also at the company’s Corporate Technology.
Glen has been in IT industry for over 25 years with experience in strategic planning, business development, technology assessment, consultancy, marketing, product management, hardware development and software engineering.

Engelina Jaspers Senior VP Environmental Sustainability HP
As Vice President of Corporate Marketing, Engelina Jaspers is responsible for advancing HP's corporate brand and reputation with external stakeholders, as well as driving employee engagement across the Americas region and in select emerging markets. Additionally, Jaspers leads HP’s marketing efforts reaching out to U.S. multicultural consumers. She was a driving member of a recent cross-company marketing job architecture overhaul, and defined a new set of 2.0 competencies for today's marketers.
Her HP experience spans regional, global and corporate roles across marketing and marketing communications. Prior to joining HP in 1998, Jaspers built a successful career at Kodak, where she held progressively senior marketing and communications positions. Prior, she spent six years in the field as a sales representative for Kodak's office imaging products.
Jaspers has a master's of science degree in Public Relations from Boston University and an undergraduate business degree. She is a passionate advocate for targeted marketing and return on marketing investment, and a frequent presenter on multicultural marketing as a means to accelerate business growth and brand equity.
Lorie Wigle General Manager, Eco-Technology Program Office INTEL CORPORATION President CLIMATE SAVERS COMPUTING INITIATIVE
Lorie Wigle leads Intel’s Eco-Technology effort which is focused on the sustainable manufacturing and usage of Intel’s products. This corporate-wide function drives Intel’s market position across energy efficient performance and design for the environment. In this capacity Lorie also drives external programs related to client, server and data center efforts including Intel’s participation in Green Grid and the Climate Savers Computing Initiative.
Recently Lorie’s team also launched the Intel Open Energy Initiative to focus internal and external efforts on promoting standards and computing solutions in the electricity industry.
Lorie has been with Intel for 25 years in a wide variety of Marketing and Product Planning roles and was the General Manager of Intel's Internet Imaging Services group. She has an MBA from Portland State University and a BA degree from the University of Oregon.

Rob Bernard Chief Environmental Strategist Microsoft
Rob Bernard is Chief Environmental Strategist for Microsoft, responsible for defining and implementing the global strategy for environmental efforts. With Microsoft for more than 10 years, Bernard has a deep personal passion for environmental sustainability.
He attended the Wharton School of Business where he earned a M.B.A and holds a bachelor's of arts in English literature from Columbia University.
Jacqueline McGlade Executive Director of the European Environment Agency
McGlade has been Executive Director to the European Environment Agency since 2003. Following the appointment, she took leave from her post as Professor of Environmental Informatics in the Department of Mathematics at University College London.
Under her leadership, the Agency is reinforcing its capability to produce integrated environmental assessments, analyzing the state of Europe’s environment as a whole, and provide reliable projections. McGlade has worked to strengthen the link between science and policy. She has not only pointed at the magnitude of climate change but also urged policymakers to start developing and applying adaptation measures.
She is also a firm advocate of informing and involving the public in all aspects of the environment. To this end, she has been striving at strengthening the information and feedback channels between researchers, public and policymakers, and making environmental information understandable and accessible through technological media.
In conjunction with her role at the EEA, she is playing an active role in promoting environmental issues in European and international fora, including various UN committees, European Agencies and Environment Protection Agencies networks, and as well as a number of research, institutional and non-governmental advisory committees.
McGlade holds a BSc in Marine Biology, Biochemistry and Soil Science from the University College of North Wales and she obtained a PhD degree on aquatic sciences and zoology from the University of Guelph in Canada. She has also obtained a MA degree from the University of Cambridge and has received several honorary degrees, academic prizes and scholarships.
